Impala Terminals

Impala Terminals is a fully integrated multimodal logistics service provider. It owns and operates ports, port terminals and warehouses. Impala Terminals has a substantial presence in emerging markets and has particular expertise in providing efficient logistic solutions in challenging environments and hard-to-reach locations. It adds value through its ability to handle metals and minerals reliably, efficiently and securely. Few can match this combination of attributes.

It looks for logistics solutions that combine direct deep sea berth access with connections to fluvial and rail networks.  In Brazil, Peru, Colombia and Africa it has integrated rail facilities with port terminal storage and direct berth access.

Impala Terminals is investing internationally to build capacity and consolidate its global presence. The company will continue to develop in strategic locations with multimodal access, with a particular focus on facilities with direct waterside access that link inland logistics to the key global commodity trade routes.

Multimodal logistics in Colombia

Impala Terminals has invested USD1 billion in Colombia. It is transforming the Magdalena River into a logistics multimodal transport corridor.  A fully multimodal logistics chain connects major coastal ports with the economic heartland via a fluvial network. From 2015, a fleet of over 120 double-hulled, dry and wet cargo barges will transport coal, oil and other liquid bulk products, containers and other commodities to and from the main Colombian ports on the Caribbean Sea. A purpose-built river-port at Barancabermeja acts as a consolidation hub, connecting river, road and rail cargoes.
